Simple slipped stitch patterning gives this hat the perfect amount of texture. It’s a great option for not just solid and semi-solid yarns but for variegated, self-striping, and hand painted ones as well.
Sizes: Newborn (Baby, Toddler) Child [Adult, Adult Large]
to fit head circumferences of:
14 (16, 18) 20 [22, 24]” / 35.5 (40.5, 45.5) 51 [56, 61] cm
Gauge: 28 stitches and 32 rows = 4” / 10 cm in pattern stitch
Yarn Requirements: Approximately 70 (90, 125) 165 [220, 235] yards / 64 (82, 114) 151 [201, 215] meters fingering weight wool.

Needles and Notions: US size 3 / 3.25 mm and US 5 / 3.75 mm needles as preferred for working small circumferences in the round (or size needed to obtain gauge). Plus an extra needle in the smaller size for the tubular cast on.
Stitch marker, tapestry needle, optional crochet hook for provisional cast on.
